Reflexology is the application of pressure to areas on the feet, and hands. Reflexology is generally relaxing and may be an effective way to alleviate stress. The theory behind reflexology is that these areas correspond to organs and systems of the body.
This week I took vacation time and completed a couple of my finals. I am now certified in Reflexology. My husband ask me whats next small engine repair. (That would come in handy as often as my children break lawn mowers, weed eaters, washing machines etc. )
So why would a Mom of 19 children and works full time decide to become a reflexologist? I have many children with attachment issues. I see this as a chance to use what I have learned as a tool for working on attachment issues as well as behavioral issues.
I have teens that have been adopted for several years and have never wanted to be touched, begging me to work on their feet every night. While working on their feet they are relaxed and very open to discussions that we have not been able to have before. I have even had them ask me to let them do my feet. I am so very impressed with the progress we are making.
I am hoping to offer some classes around the area to show other families how to use this as a way of bonding. So watch my scheduled trainings or email me if interested.
