The great thing about adopting a child at a younger age is that you have a few more years to ingrain in them the important things. Our 8 year old still has nightmares and a couple of times a week we wake to him yelling MOM MOM. When we bring him into the bed room he does not come there for the safety of his parents. He comes to our room to ask for prayer for his nightmares. He trusts God to protect him not his parents.
He often gets migraines due to vision problems. Does he ask for medication to ward off his headaches? No he ask for prayer for his headaches and always says Mom use some praying oil too.
We are so blessed.
